Hrrrm. Well, if you don't feel your consent was violated, it's none of my biz. And if you don't want to, errr, energetically shift other people, that's also your choice and not really anyone else's biz, except that you've invited comment by writing about it in this way.

One thing that most people who go far enough on the spiritual path experience is the ability to shift their own consciousness deliberately. I can shift into a few different modes, some are quick (seconds) other aren't, or aren't reliable (I can't do it every time.)

Then they realize they can alter other people's consciousness. I can't, so far as I know (I've never tried) give someone else a spiritual experience, and I don't think I'd try except with explicit consent unless they were in a very bad place and I judged it would help them. (Spiritual experiences aren't always immediately helpful. It's definitely possible to have a spiritual experience you are not ready for and cannot handle.)

But I can change people's moods using certain methods I've discovered, and this discovery is VERY common among practitioners. So then the question becomes, should I? Should they? Everyone who isn't profoundly immoral thinks about these questions: I even knew a psychopath who spent time considering the morality.

I generally want some sort of consent. That can be implicit: a friend has given me consent thru friendship to help them alter their mood for the better, I'd say and I sometimes do it with strangers who seem to be having a very bad day: if they resist, I stop, I don't force it on them (which in some cases I can do.)

It's really not that hard once you understand how consciousness and energy work, even to a moderate degree.

But I was taught that it's very dangerous to interfere with other people's spirituality, especially without consent. Once you meddle, you're on the hook.

Even with consent, well, people often don't really know what they want, and they don't understand the consequences. Actual enlightenment experiences can break a lot of bonds and patterns. People suddenly change what they care about, their personalities rewire, they often lose ambition, etc...

They may think they want that, but they don't always. If someone does the work themselves, they're on the hook. If you do some of it for them, you're also the hook.
